Olympia (cave, Ishimbay district)

Olympia is a cave in the Ishimbay region of the Republic of Bashkortostan , a natural monument (1985). It is located on the western macro slope of the Southern Urals , on the eastern slope of Mount Budalashbash , on the right bank of the Khazhinovskaya Shida River (a tributary of the Seleuk River), 5 km from the village of Khazinovo .

The third cave in the Southern Urals after Kutuk caves. It is composed of limestones of the Visise carbon layer. It has a geomorphological geological profile.

The length of the cave is 1409 meters, the depth is 122 meters, the amplitude is 101 meters. At the Olympia cave, there are two entrances located nearby, on the slope of Mount Budalashbash. [one]

Bats live.

Belongs to the Bielsko-Nugush cave area, Ishoro-Nugush subarea. It was discovered by cavers of the city of Ishimbay under the direction of A.K. Agafonov (in 1980) during the Summer Olympic Games in Moscow (hence the name).

In summer, the temperature in the cave reaches +6 degrees. C. Flooring - sand, clay, gravel. In the spring, stalactites and stalagmites appear.
