Description
In the inventory book of the Museum of Art, this work was erroneously [2] recorded under the name “Man”. Currently exhibited under the name "Dervish". A dervish is depicted on a green background in full growth. The dervish's torso is depicted in front, and the face is three-quarters, while the legs are in full profile. The dervish's face is young and beardless with a mole on his right cheek. According to art historian Natalya Miklashevskaya, it bears a resemblance to the face of a dancer, another work of Erivani of this period. Expressiveness to the face, as Miklashevskaya notes, is given by crafty looking eyes. The dervish’s black hair is smoothly combed and descends onto the shoulders [2] .
The dervish is dressed in a red jubba. The collar, shoes, belt and pointed cap of the depicted are green; the dress and hat are trimmed with gold. A striped scarf is thrown over the dervish's right hand. In it he holds the “teberzin”. And in the left hand - keshkul. These items are indispensable accessories for the dervish. In the center of the cap, the word “ Allah ” [3] is written in Arabic script .
As Miklashevskaya notes, the Dervish performance technique is similar to Erivani’s work on the Dancer glass. Safety of work is good [3] .
