Biography
Early years
Ellinor was born and raised in Stockholm, in the region of ( Södermalm ), and lived with her mother. As a child, she was diagnosed with ADHD , as well as dyslexia , because of which she had difficulty learning in school. At the age of 15, Grandma Ellinor took her with her on a trip to India for three weeks, which she said had a strong influence on her. Upon her return, she worked as a waitress in restaurants until she earned enough money and did not return to India for six months [3] . Later, she lived in Germany, France and the UK for a while, and also enjoyed photography, before starting her musical career [2] [4] .
Career
In 2011, Elliphant signed a contract with the record label TEN Music Group. One of its founders, Tim Deneuve, she met earlier that year at a party in Paris, Deneuve needed someone who could help him with his demo records [5] .
Elliphant released her debut single Tekkno Scene in 2012. The track received mostly positive reviews, it was compared with the works of MIA and Diplo [6] [7] . He was also included in the FIFA 13 video game [8] . In October 2012, Elliphant released her first mini-album (EP) on the label Bigger Splash Records, the album included the singles “Tekkno Scene” and “Down on Life” [9] .
After the release of her debut album in an interview with this site in July 2013, she said that she had already signed a contract with the label Dr. Luke , in which she will release her debut studio album called A Good Idea [10] . The album was released in Sweden on October 9, 2013 [11] , in addition to Ellinor herself, other performers and producers worked on it, including the duet, who participated in the recording of the track “More Fire”.
The second mini-album was named Look Like You Love It and was released in April 2014 by Kemosabe Records and Mad Decent , Dr. Dr. took part in its creation. Luke, Diplo, Skrillex, and [12] . It was followed by One More , released in October, the Danish singer MØ was involved in the creation of this mini-album [5] . At the same time, Elliphant was also one of the performers of the opening show of the concert tour by British singer Charli XCX in September and October 2014 [13] .
At the beginning of July 2015, it was announced that the first North American album, the second studio album in a row, Elliphant Living Life Golden will be released by Kemosabe Records on September 25, 2015 [14] , but later its release was postponed to March 25, 2016 [15 ] .
