Geography
The village is located in a wooded area northwest of Yekaterinburg , 24 km northwest of Nizhny Tagil (along the 26 km highway) on the Laya River, which forms a small pond in the village. Near the village passes the highway of regional importance Yekaterinburg - Serov .
History
The village of Malaya Laya was founded in 1684 by Old Believers (Kerzhaks), who were engaged in burning charcoal for the Kushvinsky plant , as well as crafts and agriculture.
Infrastructure
The village has an Orthodox church, a club, a paramedic and a post office work.
A shuttle bus runs from the village to Nizhny Tagil .
Industry

Also in the village there are two catering facilities on the highway:
