South America : Argentina [1] [2] .
Description
It differs from closely related species by a long stalk of a petiol and long setae on the dorsal side of the mesosome, a shiny abdomen with long whitish hairs. Small ant 2-3 mm long, tan (head reddish yellow, abdomen darker). Monomorphic workers. Frontal keels are developed, go back beyond the line of eyes, almost to the occipital margin. Propodeum with a pair of long spines. In the eyes of more than 10 facets. In the mandibles 5 or less denticles. The antennae of females and workers are 11-segmented, the club of 2 segments (the antennae of males consist of 13 segments, the club is not developed). The mandibular palps are 3-segmented, the lower labial palps are composed of 2 segments. The stalk between the breast and the abdomen consists of two segments: petiolus and postpetiolus (the latter is clearly separated from the abdomen), the sting is developed, pupae are naked (without cocoon) [1] [2] .
