Series
- 1. April
The United States switched to self-sufficiency in oil ; a war is going on in the Middle East that has paralyzed oil production. Norway, due to climate change, completely stops oil production, planning to replace it with thorium energy. The sudden abduction of the Norwegian Prime Minister results in the news that the European Union, dissatisfied with the cessation of Norwegian oil and gas production, has turned to Russia with a request to occupy Norway and restore oil production. However, the occupation is expected to affect only oil production platforms and will continue until production is fully restored. Norway's laws, authorities and government remain intact.
- 2. May
During the ceremony, Christensen, a Norwegian Royal Guard soldier, attempts to shoot the Russian ambassador Irina Sidorova. He is being detained by the bodyguard of Norwegian Prime Minister Hans Martin Dupwick. Then the guard of the Russian ambassador takes the arrested, which is a violation of the conditions of the occupation. The guard commander takes two Russian guards hostage, who came to take him to the embassy for a conversation. He demands to transfer the detained subordinate to the Norwegian police. The Norwegian Prime Minister, with the help of Dupewick, who saved Sidorov, manages to convince her not to succumb to the actions of extremists on both sides and to make a concession. The detainee is transferred to the Norwegian police. The family of the journalist Thomas Eriksen is torn between Eriksen’s hostility to the Russian occupiers and the fact that the appearance of Russian clients saved the family-owned restaurant (located directly opposite the Russian embassy) from closing, which his wife rejoices with. At the restaurant, an unknown man knocks a Russian to death.
- 3. June
The situation around the demands of the Russian side to extradite the former Chechen terrorist Elbek Musaev living in Norway, who was detained on suspicion of running into a Russian in the second series. Materials on his terrorist activities are transmitted to the Norwegian leadership. The son of the detainee, Ilyas, is trying to take the blame on himself, hoping for his Norwegian citizenship, which his father does not have. Eriksen's wife agrees to install surveillance cameras at the restaurant. A Chechen receives 2 years for manslaughter, but already in prison, having received a notification of extradition to Russia, commits suicide. Ilyas blames Dupwick for everything. Dupwick is removed from the post of prime minister’s bodyguard and appointed head of the department for the prevention and investigation of crimes against Russians. The Prime Minister announces that the Russians will leave Norway in 2 months.
- 4. July
Police detain teenage blogger for distributing anti-Russian materials. The police department undermines a mined car, due to which the detainee becomes disabled. Dupewick's wife, who works in court, conflicts with her colleague over the attitude towards the occupation in general and the terrorist attack in particular, which she then finds behind the attempt to steal secret documents, but as a result, she is also suspended from cases related to the PST where her husband works. Ericksen's son is in conflict with his peers, who have a negative attitude towards his work in a restaurant that is actively visited by Russians. Eriksen makes contact with a terrorist who identified himself as a representative of the Free Norway group. It turned out to be Stephen Christensen, the same soldier who tried to shoot Sidorova in the second series, who was released before the hearing. Upon learning of this, Dupewick tries to get materials from Ericksen, but there are no legal grounds for seizing them. Then he turns for help to the Russians, who have been following Ericksen all this time. Dupwick and his partner Ingrid Boe are trying to detain Christensen, whose accomplice is Ilyas - the son of a Chechen from the third series, but they manage to escape.
- 5. August
Oil production in Norway has been fully restored, and therefore the occupation should end. Meanwhile, a political crisis is growing in the Norwegian leadership - the leadership of the ruling party decides to make Prime Minister Berg a scapegoat so that the occupation period in the future is associated with him, and not with the whole party. The head of the Norwegian Security Service (PST) Venke Arnesen, on the basis of a deadly diagnosis and general disappointment in the situation, decides to make contact with Free Norway, in particular, trying to disrupt the operation to detain Ilyas. However, despite her warning, PST operatives tracking Ilyas find and detain Christensen. Eriksen, who wrote a critical article about the premiere, comes into conflict with the editors and quits. Free Norway again threatens him, hinting at his wife and her restaurant, where a farewell dinner is being held for employees of the Russian embassy with Sidorova’s participation. In the midst of celebrations for the end of the occupation, a powerful explosion occurs at one of the refineries, which led to the death of a group of Russian oil workers. Shortly before the explosion, an anonymous SMS led Ericksen to the factory, where he observed the explosion, unsuccessfully trying to warn the guards of the factory.
- 6. September
The Russian side presses on Norway due to the lack of progress in the investigation of the attack. Dupwick discovers that his boss has contacted Free Norway. He watches her and discovers Birkeland, the alleged ideologist of extremists, but he is killed by an unknown person. Dupwiks have Russian neighbors. Premier Berg, trying to prevent the escalation of the conflict with Russia and the EU, initiates a referendum on the restoration of oil production for the next 10 years, but thereby changes his beliefs, completely spoils relations with his own party and jeopardizes his marriage. During the requiem for the victims of the terrorist attack, Eriksen meets with a certain Maxim Ivanov - an oilman who nearly became a victim of the explosion. However, in "Novgaz" he was informed that such a person had never worked for them. Eriksen's criticism of “Free Norway” threatens his family with reprisal. After the refusal of the police to provide them with protection, Ericksen's wife turns to a member of the Russian special services, with whom she managed to get close closely. The girlfriend of Ericksen’s son involves him in organizing a protest rally in which, using his “trusted” status, he bypasses the cordon and throws a Molotov cocktail.
- 7. October
Norwegians in a referendum agreed to continue to supply oil to the EU. However, Russia continues to control Norwegian oil production and, in addition, conducts large-scale military exercises on the border and off the coast of Norway. Concerned about the situation, Berg has contacted the EU leadership, but he has been made clear that real help is not worth the wait. The Norwegian government continues to break up. Wenke Arnesen meets with the retired Royal Guard commander Harald Wall, convincing him to take part in the formation of resistance. Dupwick is fired from PST. The Russians are trying to recruit him. He refuses, but then he is met by the prime minister and the head of military intelligence and convinced to “accept” the proposal. During the trial of Christensen, Ilyas brings fake bombs to the courthouse and sends out a mass message about this through social networks. Christensen himself, hastily taken away from the courthouse, is freed by the fighters of Free Norway. Thomas Eriksen in his search for Maxim Ivanov illegally goes to Murmansk, but soon the Norwegian border guards catch his body in the border river.
- 8. November
Jesper Berg, in view of the political crisis, asks the king to resign, but he refuses, entrusting him to remain in office until the best candidate appears. The case of Ericksen’s death is closed, the incident is recognized as an accident, but the editors decide to continue to draw attention to the matter. Satellites recorded a group of 200 people who crossed the Norwegian border. Some of them went to the Russian embassy, the rest scattered around the country. Among them were former special forces soldiers "who had previously carried out operations in Chechnya and Georgia - they lived by posing as ordinary people and then attacked from the inside." Berg makes a speech on this subject, and instructs the immigration service to deport Russians who arrived in the country without proper documents. Sidorova requires Berg to publicly refute it, and then offers Knutsen, the former minister and initiator of the thorium project, cooperation - Russian nuclear power plants would not be difficult to transfer to thorium. Dupwick and Russian special forces seize the ammunition depot of the Free Norway. Russia refuses to accept the deportees, as a result of which Berg orders them to be taken to Svalbard. Unknown (Russian-speaking) terrorists (in the belts of martyrs) take Berg hostage. Dupwick, who arrived for negotiations, recognizes one of the terrorists as Andrei, a special forces soldier with whom he participated in the seizure of the warehouse, but at the same time, snipers kill the terrorists (the special forces did not guess to curtain the windows). Despite everything, it seems that Sidorova and a certain Zakhar Gosev who arrived from Russia are really not involved in the attack. Gosev provides materials exposing Dupewick in his work for the Norwegians, but he manages to justify himself, and Sidorova intercedes for him. Berg takes refuge in the US Embassy. The new government of Norway is meeting in full force, and Berg's first question is the creation of camps for the internment of Russian illegal immigrants. Ingrid Bö contacts Bente and finds out that Ericksen called his daughter from Murmansk before his death.
- 9. December, part 1
The Ericksen murder case is expectedly moving in the direction “the Russians themselves blew up the plant” - it turns out that the oil workers who died in the explosion were prisoners who arrived at the plant directly from prisons a week before the explosion — however, these are unverified rumors collected by Ericksen. Berg, taking refuge in the American embassy, is trying to get guarantees from the United States, but the US leadership also does not want to enter into an open conflict without full confidence in victory. A plane with Russian illegal immigrants flying to Svalbard is intercepted by a pair of PAK FA and forced to return - Berg is satisfied, the line with the "decisive expulsion of illegal immigrants" allowed him to involve the United States in the conflict as at least a mediator in the negotiations. The militants of "Free Norway" on a tip who decided to cooperate with "Free Norway" Bente kidnap Sidorova. Russian special forces occupy Oslo airport and close air traffic. Berg makes an appeal to the nation that Russia has undertaken an open act of aggression against Norway and urges the population to fight for their country. The American ambassador offers Berg to evacuate him to Switzerland, but he refuses. The militants publish a video message in which, having shot and killed the captured security guard of the embassy, they demand that Russia withdraw all forces from the country within 24 hours.
- 10. December, part 2
With the assistance of Ingrid Dupewick manages to detect and release Sidorova. Wenke Arnesen publishes a video message to the nation, in which he declares himself the head of “Free Norway” and announces his retirement underground. In fact, the terminally ill ex-head of the state security service commits suicide and orders secretly cremate himself to a familiar priest. Berg is taken from the American embassy to the hospital with poisoning (presumably he was poisoned by the Americans in order to remove him from the embassy, without formally refusing help), from where he was taken out by the Free Norway militants, transporting him to the military unit, where he is met by Colonel Wall. At the Russian embassy, the militants of Free Norway (with the assistance of Bente) attack General Murikov and kill him. Sidorova visits Dyupvik and reports that a full-fledged war is inevitable and offers him to head the RLS. The final is open.
