Biography
Born on December 24, 1654 in the Serboluzhitsky village of Khvachitsy. He studied carpentry in his native village, then studied mechanics in Bologna . In 1686 he returned to Puddle. He worked as a court mechanic and foreman. Designed a mechanical watch and astronomical instruments. Around 1700, he designed a watch for Augustus the Strong , on which around the main dial there were an additional 360 marks, which showed the time in different time zones [1] . This watch is currently on display at the Physics and Mathematics Salon in Dresden. He built a fountain in the Zwinger park complex with a rise of 16 meters and in the palace - an elevator to the third floor.
In 1715, he resigned due to disputes with supporters of the idea of perpetual motion, working at the palace of Augustus the Strong. In 1723 he published the book Aufmunterung an alle, welche ein perpetuum mobile mechanicum, zu machen vor möglich halten zu einer kleinen sichtbaren grobe mit einem Erbiethen an 300 gulden , which argued that it was impossible to build a perpetual motion machine .
Memory
