Water Polo at the Pan American Games

The Pan American Games water polo tournaments are competitions for the national water polo national teams of the Americas, held as part of the Pan American Games sponsored by the Amateur Swimming Union of America and the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO).

The Pan American Games have been held since 1951 every 4 years in the pre-Olympic season. Men's Water Polo has been included in the competition program since the first Games. Women have been competing in the Games since 1999 .

The greatest number of times in the water polo tournaments of the Pan American Games was won by the US national teams (12 times for men and 4 for women). Argentina won twice in men's tournaments, once each - Brazil , Mexico and Cuba . Once in the competition of women's teams excelled Canada .
