Biography

Sergei Fedorovich Zinoviev was born into a peasant family in the village of Pershino, Ramenskaya volost, Bronnitsky district, Moscow province (currently the Ramensky district of the Moscow region) . Received primary education, worked as a seller.

On April 15, 1943, he was called up to the ranks of the Red Army by the Bronnitsky District Military Commissariat. Since May 22, 1943 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War .

When breaking through the enemy’s defenses on the Drut River west of Rogachev on June 24–25, 1944 , a gunner of a 45-mm gun, Private Zinoviev, with accurate shots smashed the DZOT, an observation post and destroyed the enemy’s machine gun, firing direct fire at the infantry. When capturing the stronghold of the Orphanage "Zadrutie", and taking the settlements Luchin and Lebedevka north of the city, Zhlobin accompanied the infantry, supporting its fire attack. By command of the unit, he was presented to the medal “For Courage” , but by order of the 48th Army on July 21, 1944, Private Zinoviev was awarded the Order of the Red Star .

Private 3inoviev, on the night of November 22, 1944, operating southeast of the city of Solec-Kujawski , as a part of the reconnaissance group on the boat crossed the Vistula River, he himself remained on guard of the boat and covered the capture group from the machine, which ensured the capture of the “language” . By order of the building dated November 29, 1944, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

Private Zinoviev, on the night of January 10, 1945 , acting as part of a reconnaissance group 1.5 km northwest of Bialobrzegi , crossed the Vistula, crossed the minefield and wire fences of the enemy and went to the rear of the enemy firing point. Noticing there two enemy soldiers, he aptly threw a grenade there and rushed towards them in the rear in order to cut off the escape routes. Seeing that the senior reconnaissance group and the senior capture group were fighting an enemy soldier, he rushed to their aid, which contributed to the rapid capture and escort of the prisoner. By order of the 33rd Army on January 17, 1945, Private Zinoviev was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.

On the night of April 21, 1945, private soldier 3 as part of the group was the first to cross the Neisse river near the settlements of Kushern and Zadersdorf (30 km southeast of the city of Frankfurt an der Oder , penetrated the enemy’s trench, put down a machine gun and captured the enemy soldier. The Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 15, 1946, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.

In March 1946, the foreman 3inoviev was discharged. He lived in the village of Starnikovo, Ramensky district. He worked on a collective farm.

Sergey Fedorovich Zinoviev died on July 26, 1960 .
