Ericksonella saccharata was first described by the German botanist Heinrich Gustav Reichenbach under the taxonomic name Caladenia saccharata Rchb.f. basionym [3] ; in 2004, it was transferred to the Ericksonella family of its own by Stephen Donald Hopper and Andrew Phillip Brown [4] . Some researchers propose to transfer the only representative of Ericksonella back to the genus Caladenia [5] [6] .
