Biography
Edwards Pavlovskis was born on July 30, 1950 in the village of Brezno (modern Svaryn volost , Dagda region ). In 1968 he graduated from high school in Dagda and entered the Riga Catholic Seminary [1] . After three months of training, in December 1968 he was called up for military service in the Soviet army, after completing his service in 1970 he returned to seminary. After the successful completion of the seminary on May 25, 1975 he was ordained a priest [2] .
He served in a number of Latvian parishes, from 1976 to 2000 he taught at the Riga Seminary [1]
On July 22, 2011, he was appointed bishop of the Jelgava diocese instead of the retired Antons Eusts . On September 10, 2011, episcopal ordination took place [2] . In 2012-2013, Pavlovskis simultaneously served as the apostolic administrator of the diocese of Liepaja [2] .
