Tolstoukhov, Valentin Romanovich

Born in 1933 in the village of Solonukhino, Tuzhinsky District (now the Kirov Region ).

He graduated from the Tumanur seven-year school.

Before the army he worked as a tractor driver in his native village.

In 1951, drafted into the ranks of the Soviet Army . In the army he served in military intelligence .

After the army in 1955, he came to the call in Mosmetrostroy . He went from an ordinary builder to the foreman of the brigade of drifters. He worked at the most difficult areas. Over the years in Metrostroi he was awarded the Order of Lenin and the Order of the Badge of Honor .

In 1975, together with his family, he left for BAM .

In August 1975, with the first landing, he landed in the Goudzhekit gorge in the foothills of the Baikal Range. Living in a tent camp, he built houses and set up the future settlement of the tunnels Goudzhekit.

Of the builders of the village, the first tunnel brigade of the tunnel detachment No. 12 was assembled. In mid-April 1976, the approach, and then the transport-drainage gallery , began to be drilled.

March 17, 1977, the penetration of the main tunnel began from the eastern portal. It was V. R. Tolstoukhov who was at the control of the Furukawa drilling rig. The work was carried out in difficult geological and climatic conditions - high seismicity, ice and sandstone in kilometer fractures, the constant threat of landslides, permafrost . Additionally, the work was complicated by a large amount of groundwater - cold and hot, up to 70 ° C.

At his insistence, powerful MOAZ dump trucks were introduced to the haulage of the breed, they began to use drilling at once in five columns without busting, which significantly accelerated the work.

On February 6, 1981 , exactly one year ahead of the project deadline and 17 days ahead of the deadline assumed by the commitments in honor of the XXVI Congress of the CPSU , an interchange was made at the Baikal Tunnel . On this day, the sinkers of the Baikal tunnel sent telegrams to Moscow to the Ministry of Transport and Construction and Glavtonnelmetrostroy:

  “We report that the builders of the seven-kilometer-long Baikal tunnel in honor of the upcoming XXVI Congress of the CPSU fulfilled their commitment.  The last link in the Baikal Ridge was completed a year earlier than the deadlines. ”

For his outstanding achievements and labor heroism during the construction of BAM by the Decree of the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Council of February 5, 1981, V. R. Tolstoukhov was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the second Order of Lenin and the Sickle Hammer gold medal . V.R. Tolstoukhov became the first BAM tuner that received this high rank.

In the years of work on the construction of the Baikal tunnel, he completed eleven classes.

After completion of the construction of the Baikal tunnel, he and his family moved to Severomuisk , where he headed the mining crew at the tunneling of the Severomui tunnel .

In June 1982, a ceremonial rally on the occasion of the victory of the brigade of Hero of Socialist Labor Valentin Romanovich Tolstoukhov was held on the Eastern Portal of the Severomuisk Tunnel in June 1982 - the All-Union record of penetration set by the brigade of V. Tolstoukhov in honor of the 60th anniversary of the USSR. In a month, 171.5 meters of the main tunnel were covered ^[1] .

In 1983, due to a decrease in the volume of work, part of the Tunnel Detachment No. 12 was relocated to the construction of the Kodar tunnel , and part of them returned home. Together with his comrades, he returned home to the city of Odintsovo near Moscow, and V.R. Tolstoukhov.

He died in 1993 .
