He received the rank of lieutenant in the paratrooper troops. In 1965 - 1966 he also studied at the Soviet Ryazan airborne command school . He was known by the nickname Cirocco .

Politically, Pierre Kingang adhered to the right views and was a supporter of the first president of the Congo Fulber Yulu . He negatively perceived the overthrow of Yulu in August 1963 , but remained in military service.

In July 1968, Massamba Deba was overthrown by the military rebellion of Marian Nguabi . Supporters of pro - Western anti - communist Yulu supported pro-Soviet Marxist Nguabi against pro-Chinese socialist Massamba-Deb. Kingang was released.

Rebel

Pierre Kinganga was a staunch opponent of Marxist-Leninist ideology and the one-party system of the Soviet type, established by the CBT led by Nguabi. He was especially negative towards planting the institute of political commissars in the Congolese army.

In May 1968, he joined the conspiracy, which was organized by the nephew of Abbot Yulu, captain Felix Muzabakani and the French mercenary Jacques Debreton. The plot was uncovered; Kingang managed to hide in Kinshasa . On May 29, 1969, the court sentenced Pierre Kingang to death in absentia [1] .

On the territory of the DRC . In Kinshasa, Kingang formed a group of active “lawyers”. On March 23, 1970, Pierre Kinganga and his group made their way to Brazzaville and led an armed uprising. The rebels captured the voice of the Congolese revolution . Kingang announced the overthrow of the Nguabi socialist regime, and the national anthem of the Yulu presidency was aired. [2] In a number of places, spontaneous demonstrations in support of the rebellion were noted.

Government forces responded promptly and harshly. The radio station was blocked and taken by storm. By the afternoon, the rebellion was crushed, Pierre Kinganga killed.

Until the early 1990s, official attitude towards Pierre Kingang in the NRC was extremely negative. It changed after the 1991 National State Conference , which rehabilitated Yulu. Proponents of the reforms believe that the struggle of Pierre Kinganga ended in victory [3] - the rejection of Marxist-Leninist ideology, the transition to multi-party democracy, the return of the historical name and symbolism to the Republic of the Congo [4] .
