Shikhuh Arabs moved from Yemen (according to other sources: from Iran [1] ) to the Musandam Peninsula in the 2nd century AD and subsequently mixed with the Balochs who came from the territories of modern Iran and Pakistan . Shihuh Arabs lead a nomadic life, are engaged in animal husbandry, subsistence farming and fishing. Depending on the season, they climb mountains or descend onto the plains. Today, many shihuhs work in the UAE [2] . In the world there are 43,600 speakers of the Shihuh dialect, of which 21,600 live in the UAE (2014) and 22,000 in Oman (2000). Most Shihuh Arabs speak their own dialect, but there is a group (kumzarites) among them whose representatives speak the Iranian language kumzari [3] [4] . The Shikhuh dialect was influenced by the Persian language [5] [6] .
