History
As an unnamed village, the modern Zapolye is mentioned on the map of the St. Petersburg province of F. F. Schubert in 1834 [2] .
ZAPOLYE - the village belongs to college adviser Platon Dmitriev, the number of inhabitants under the audit: 19 m., 18 w. p. [3] (1838)
As the village of Gorushki, it is marked on the map of Professor S. S. Kutorgi in 1852 [4] .

According to the map from the “Historical Atlas of the St. Petersburg Province” of 1863, an unnamed village was located on the site of the modern village of Zapolye [7] .
In the XIX - early XX centuries, the village administratively belonged to the Perechitsky volost of the 1st zemsky section of the 1st camp of the Luga district of St. Petersburg province.
According to the "Memorial Book of the St. Petersburg Province" for 1905, the village of Zapolye was part of the Izorskoye rural society [8] .
According to 1933, the village of Zapolye was part of the Betkovsky village council of the Luga region [9] .
According to 1966, the village of Zapolye was also part of the Betkovsky Village Council [10] .
According to the data of 1973 and 1990, the village of Zapolye was part of the Kamensky Village Council [11] [12] .
In 1997, 17 people lived in the village of Zapolye of the Kamensky volost, in 2002 - 24 people (all Russians) [13] [14] .
In 2007, 18 people lived in the village of Zapolye, Zaklinsky SP [15] .
Geography
The village is located in the southeastern part of the region near the highway 41K-683 (Trinity Turn - Zatulenie ).
The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 27 km [15] .
The distance to the nearest railway station Oredezh is 14 km [10] .
The village is located on the northern shore of Lake Merevsky .
