History
It was formed in 1715 as the 3rd Infantry Regiment. Previously, he was named after Karl of Lorraine, and since 1780 he was named after his chief, Archduke of Austria Karl Teshensky . Headquarters - Cesky Tesin , place of recruitment of soldiers - Kromeriz . He participated in the Seven Years War, in the Napoleonic Wars and the Austro-Italo-Prussian War. From 1805 to 1869, the 3rd Moravian Infantry Regiment of the Austrian Empire . Consisted of 4 battalions. In 1909, the 1st battalion was based in Olomouc, the 2nd and 3rd in Tesin, the 4th in Kromeriz [4] (in 1914, the 1st battalion was transferred to Doboy). The national composition of the regiment as of 1914: 83% - Czechs, 10% - Hungarians, 7% - other nationalities [5] .
In 1914, the regiment went to the Italian front of the First World War, where he participated in several battles at Isonzo [6] . His battalions were divided into several units:
- 1st Battalion - 12th Mountain Brigade, 48th Infantry Division, 15th Corps ;
- 2nd and 3rd battalions - 23rd Infantry Brigade, 12th Infantry Division , 6th Army ;
- 4th Battalion - 8th Infantry Brigade, 4th Infantry Division 2nd Corps 4th Army .
During the so-called reforms of Konrad since June 1918 the number of battalions was reduced to three [7] , and the 4th battalion was disbanded [8] .
