Born in the village of Strizhavka (now - Vinnitsa district , Vinnitsa region , Ukraine ) in the family of a small merchant. In 1890 he entered the University of Kiev , from 1893 he entered into revolutionary activity. In 1894-1897 he took part in the creation of the Russian Social Democratic Group, the Workers 'Group, the "Workers' Newspaper", the Kiev "Union for the Emancipation of the Working Class." In 1898, he participated in the I Congress of the RSDLP in Minsk , where they, along with N. Vigdorchik, represented the "Working Newspaper" [1] . At the congress he was elected to the Central Committee of the RSDLP, but was soon arrested and imprisoned in the Peter and Paul Fortress , in 1900 he was expelled to Siberia. After returning from exile, he took part in the revolution of 1905-1907 , after which he retired from revolutionary activity, in 1910 he graduated from the medical faculty of Kiev University. After the October Revolution of 1917, he worked in the People's Commissariat of Labor, since 1919 he taught at the VTsIK School , and since 1925, he was a personal pensioner . He is the author of several publications on the history of the revolutionary movement in Russia.
