History
In 1989, during the mining strikes of the Kemerovo region, working committees arose at many coal enterprises, cities and regions. To inform citizens about their activities, they needed to publish their own newspaper. Her date of birth is December 11, 1989. Under the roof of several print runs (chemical plant, industrial building, Kemerovo railway), 9 issues of the newspaper were published. The 10th issue of the newspaper was released with the permission of the Regional Committee of the CPSU in February 1990. The first few numbers were called “The Union of Workers of Kuzbass”. By the summer of 1990, the circulation reached 120 thousand copies. Then, on October 18, 1990, it was registered as a Russian publication. Since 1991, the editorial board has supported Yeltsin and Kislyuk ; in 1999, it supported the Union of Right Forces .
