Geography
According to the American Bureau of Census , the total area of the city is 27.33 km², including 27.26 km² for land and 0.07 km² for water (0.28%). Located about 20 km northwest of the county’s administrative center, Santa Ana . The highway SR 91 passes through Buena Park, which divides it into two parts - northern and southern.
History
The city was incorporated on January 27, 1953 [1] .
Population
According to the 2010 census [2] , the city had 80 530 inhabitants. The population density was thus 2946 people per km². The racial makeup of the city was as follows: 45.3% were white; 3.8% are African-Americans; 1.1% are Indians; 26.7% are Asians; 0.6% - representatives of the population of the Pacific Islands; 17.5% are representatives of other races and 5.1% are representatives of two or more races. 39.3% of the population defined their origin as Spanish (Hispanic).
Of the 23,686 households at the census date, 43.8% had children; 57.3% were married couples. 14.3% of households were formed by single people, while in 5.9% of households there lived a single person over 65 years old. The average number of people in a household was 3.37; the average family size is 3.67 people.
Age composition of the population: 25.3% - under 18 years of age; 10.7% - from 18 to 24 years old; 28.2% - from 25 to 44 years old; 25.2% - from 45 to 64 years old and 10.6% - 65 years and older. The average age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 97.4 males. For every 100 females over 18 years of age, 94.5 males.
The average household income is $ 64,205, with 11.1% of the population living below the poverty line [3] .
