Physico-geographical characteristics of the threshold
The Slalomny threshold is located in the lower reaches of the Chuya River at the β410 kmβ mark of the federal highway P256 ( Chuysky Trakt ) in the Altai Republic ( Ongudaysky district ), 2 kilometers downstream from the Behemoth threshold (5-6 c. S.). Immediately after the Classic threshold, the Slalomny threshold begins (4 k.p. ). Formally, the border between the thresholds is almost absent; the reference to the beginning of the Slalomniy threshold is the left tributary of the Chui [1] [2] .
Threshold Specifications
The Classic threshold belongs to the 3rd category of complexity according to the Russian classification. The threshold length is about 500 meters. The starting point of the threshold is a group of large rock fragments in the riverbed. The threshold can be passed without reconnaissance, if necessary reconnaissance is carried out from the right bank. The threshold is a powerful shiver with stone blocks in the riverbed, protruding above the water. Typical obstacles to the threshold are shafts [to. 1] and plums , the height of which can reach 1.5 meters. Also in some places there are clamps [1] [2] [3] [4] .
Tourism
The Slalomny threshold is one of the obstacles during rafting along Lower Chuya. The threshold is passable for rafts ( rafts ), catamarans , kayaks .
Passing the Slalomniy threshold is part of the Chuya Rally international water tourism competition program. The threshold is held as part of a 14-km race along the lower Chuya. Traditionally, Chuya Rally competitions are held in early May. The first competitions in the international format were held in 1989 [5] [6] .

- β A wave is a perturbation of a water surface in the form of a wave, in which water moves parallel to the flow along the slopes of the shaft up and down. If the crest of the wave is directed perpendicular to the flow, then the shaft is called standing, if at an angle, then oblique.
