Story
The beginning of the film is identical to the first part: the film depicts the murder of a family that was hung on wooden crosses, like stuffed animals, put bags on their heads and burned alive. Just such a nightmare is seen by nine-year-old Dylan Collins - a boy who lives in a rural house, not far from the Lutheran church, with his twin brother Zack and his mother Courtney ( Shannin Sossamon ).
The former assistant sheriff ( James Ranson ) from the first film investigates the murders associated with Bagul and burns down the houses in which the deceased family lived before someone can move into it, including the house of Ellison Oswalt. At the same time, a group of ghostly children led by a boy named Milo comes to Dylan at night. Milo forces Dylan to watch “home videos” of families killed excessively brutally: one family was fed alive by alligators, the second was killed by electric shock in the kitchen, the third was buried alive in the snow on Christmas, and the fourth was tied to chairs, their mouths were fixed with special clamps used by dentists, and mutilated with a drill. The sheriff arrives at the house to destroy him, but discovers Courtney and her sons, who are hiding from the tyrant’s influential husband. The assistant says that he is a private detective, and Courtney allows him to conduct his investigation in the church, where the whole family was terribly murdered: they were tied up, their stomachs were exposed and rats were laid on them. They were covered with bowls and coals were placed on the dishes, forcing rats to gnaw holes in people's stomachs to get out. Later, the assistant sheriff stumbles upon an article on the Internet about the wedding of Courtney and her ex-husband Clint. Suddenly, an endless amount of articles about the murder in the church appears on the screen, and then the deputy sheriff sees Bagul. Frightened, he slams the laptop cover.
The next morning, Clint appears with the police at Courtney’s house to pick up the children, but leaves when the assistant sheriff threatens to inform the sheriff that his assistants are acting without a court order. Then it becomes known that the assistant sheriff was arrested on suspicion of the murder of the Oswalt family, since he was the last person Ellison spoke to and who was seen leaving Oswalt's house. When the charges were dropped, he was fired for reporting murders to Allison. Courtney wants to leave with the children, but the assistant to the sheriff advises her not to do this, realizing that Bagul committed all the murders of the families only after the families left the houses in which the previous murder took place. Courtney offers to spend the night to the assistant to the sheriff, and romantic relations are struck between them. In the morning they exchange phone numbers, and the Assistant Sheriff promises to arrive in the evening. In the afternoon, he meets with Dr. Stomberg ( Tate Ellington ), and he shows him the amateur radio left after the mysterious disappearance of Professor Jonas, an expert in the occult sciences from the first film. The doctor said that the radio originally belonged to a Norwegian family, who was killed in 1973. He reproduces the recording on which the cries of the dead are heard and how the little girl speaks in Norwegian: “Mommy, do not shout, please, otherwise Bagul will not hear me.”
The assistant sheriff and Stomberg understand that Bagul needs children and that it is the children who kill their family. He orders the professor to destroy the radio as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, Zack confesses to Dylan that he also sees dead children, and is angry that they chose Dylan, and not him. One night, they show Dylan a video showing a murder in a church. After Dylan refuses to watch the last video recorded by the leader of the dead children, Milo, the children pay attention to Zach and leave Dylan. In the morning, Clint comes back to Courtney with the police, but he already has official permission to pick up the children. He tells Courtney that either he will take the children and she will never see them, or she can go with them. Courtney agrees. In the evening, the assistant sheriff arrives at the farmhouse, but Courtney and the children have already left, and he goes to Clint's house to warn him of impending danger, but Clint beats him and orders him to get out. The next day, Zach, with the help of ghostly children, takes pictures of how Dylan, Courtney and Clint spend time during a picnic. At the same time, Dylan realizes that his family was poisoned, and, having pulled the phone out of his mother’s pocket, he contacts the assistant sheriff and asks for help.
Courtney, Dylan, and Clint weakened under the influence of drugs, and Zack, putting bags on their heads, hung them, as if stuffed, on wooden crosses in the middle of a corn field - Dylan’s nightmare, which he saw at the beginning of the film, begins to come true. The obsessed Zack sets Clint on fire and shoots on camera as he burns alive. The moment before Zack tries to set Dylan on fire, a deputy sheriff knocks Zack in a car. He frees Courtney and Dylan, and they hide in the midst of corn. However, Zack survived, thanks to the demon's obsession, and pursues them. He almost catches up with the assistant sheriff and with a sickle cuts off half of the fingers of his left hand.
They run to the house that they left earlier, and hide in it. Dead children try to help Zach find Courtney and Dylan. Zach is about to kill them by filming the last seconds of their lives, but suddenly the assistant sheriff breaks the camera. Dead children reproach Zack that he could not make a film, and warn that "he will be furious." Then Bagul appears and puts his hand on Zak’s shoulder, why Zach begins to disintegrate and turn into a skeleton, the house lights up. Assistant Sheriff leads Courtney and Dylan out of the flames of the house.
Later they call in the motel where the assistant lived, and the assistant enters his room to pick up a few things. On the table, he sees an amateur receiver and hears a girl whispering: "Assistant." Suddenly a Bagul appears, and the screen turns black.
