Podorosk ( Belor. Padarosk ) is an agro - town in the Volkovysk district of the Grodno region of Belarus , the center of the Podoros village council . The population of 602 people (2009) [1] .

Geography
The village is located near the border with the Brest region , 23 km southeast of Volkovysk . The village stands on the highway P44 ( Grodno - Ivatsevichi ), from which the Podorosk - Porozovo road branches here. The Zelvyanka River flows through the village.
History
The first written mention of Podoroska dates back to 1522, the local church is mentioned in the list of churches of the Vilnius diocese [2] . In 1660, the king and Grand Duke Jan Casimir granted the town Magdeburg Law . The estate was consecutively owned by several noble families: Shreds, Dolsky, Scipions del Campo, Gribovsky, Chechot [2] . The latter built a manor on the estate. In 1776, a church was built here, in 1780, the Greek Catholic Trinity Church, which was later transferred by the Orthodox and has survived to this day.
As a result of the third division of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (1795), Podorosk became part of the Russian Empire , in Volkovysk Uyezd . In 1802, a Catholic missionary and archaeologist Maximilian Rylo was born here. In 1854, the estate was acquired by the son of the famous philosopher Florian Bohvits ( be: Flaryan Bohvits ), Roman. In 1854-1856 he rebuilt a local manor house in the style of late classicism . At the estate there was a distillery, a water mill, fulling and other outbuildings [2] . As of 1914, there were 78 yards in the village [3]
According to the Riga Peace Treaty (1921), Podorosk became part of the interwar Polish Republic , was the center of the commune of the Volkovysk County, Bialystok Voivodeship .
In 1939, Podorosk became part of the BSSR, from October 12, 1940 - the center of the village council. The status of the settlement was lowered to the village. As of 2004, there were 394 courtyards and 717 inhabitants [3] . In 2009 - 602 residents.
In Soviet times, the board of the state farm was located in the manor house, since 2004 the building was abandoned [2] .
