World Championship of Russian Drafts for Men 2009

The 2009 World Championship of Russian Drafts among Men took place on February 26 — March 6, 2009 in Chelyabinsk ( Russia ) according to the Swiss system . Competitions were held in the classic program, quick drafts and blitz according to the system of micro-matches with a draw for the initial moves and positions required in both games, according to the table approved by Section-64 of the FMJD.

The main program was attended by 24 athletes from 10 countries, including 11 international grandmasters and 3 international masters. Sergey Belosheev (Ukraine) became the world champion - 13 points out of 18. Russians with 12 points each, Vladimir Yegorov and Pyotr Chernyshev, held an extra match for the second place, in which Yegorov won with a score of 4-0.
