Geography
According to the American Bureau of Census , the total area of the city is 81.59 km², including 81.31 km² for land and 0.28 km² for water (0.35%). Located 28 km south of the county’s administrative center, Riverside .
History
The city was incorporated on May 26, 1911 [1] .
Population
According to the 2010 census [2] , the city had 68,386 inhabitants. The population density was thus 838 people per km². The racial makeup of the city was as follows: 42.3% were white; 12.1% are African-Americans; 0.9% are Indians; 3.6% are Asians; 0.4% - representatives of the population of the Pacific Islands; 35.6% are representatives of other races and 5.1% are representatives of two or more races. 71.8% of the population defined their origin as Spanish (Hispanic).
Of the 16,365 households at the census date, 66.2% had children; 59.7% were married couples. 8.8% of households were formed by single people, while in 2.3% of households lived a single person over 65 years old. The average number of people in a household was 4.16; the average family size is 4.32 people.
Age composition of the population: 37.0% - under 18 years of age; 11.6% - from 18 to 24 years old; 29.4% - from 25 to 44 years old; 17.1% - from 45 to 64 years and 4.9% - 65 years and older. The average age is 26 years. For every 100 females there are 98.3 males. For every 100 females over 18 years old, 93.9 males.
The average household income is $ 46,435, with 28.2% of the population living below the poverty line [3] .
