Oscar Antonio Ramirez Hernandez ( Spanish: Óscar Antonio Ramírez Hernández ; born December 8, 1964 , Belen , Costa Rica ) is a Costa Rican footballer and football coach. From 2015 to 2018 - the head coach of the Costa Rican team .

Biography

Footballer

He played at midfield position. Ramirez spent most of his career in the leading clubs of the country, Alahuelense and Saprissa . In addition to them, he played in Belene and Guanacastek . For 12 years, Oscar Ramirez was called to the national team of the country. Together with her, he participated in the 1990 World Cup in Italy , where Costa Ricans reached the 1/8 final. In total for the national team the midfielder played 75 games and scored 6 goals.

Coaches

Oscar Ramirez began his coaching career at Belene. He then for several years assisted his former teammate Hernan Medford in Saprissa and the national team. In 2010 he headed "Alahuelense". This Ramirez club has led to the title of champion of Costa Rica several times. In 2012, the specialist was named the best football coach of the year in the country.

In 2014–2015 Ramirez in parallel helped Paulo Vancópe in the Costa Rican national team. After the departure of the latter because of a fight with a steward, he was appointed head coach of the national team. [one]
