Summary

The story tells of Lisa, a little girl left alone after the death of her grandmother. She finds solace in friendship with Lou - an imaginary character with whom she is going to discover the world and life.

  • Lisa (Lisa) - a little girl, forever longing and bored in solitude;
  • Grandmother (Grand-Mère) - Lizina’s beloved grandmother, who told the girl terrible tales; her death and loneliness caused by her is the starting point of the story;
  • Lou (Loup) - a friend imagined by Lisa, accompanying her throughout the plot;
  • Storyteller (Conteur) - father who lost his son; with his mantle of sorrow, he captivates Lisa - from his unsuccessful searches, the entire plot line of the tale is built;
  • Rabbit Martin (Lapin Martin) - a character from the last book of the Storyteller; huge (judging by the illustrations of the author of the book) good-natured rabbit;
  • Humphrey Worm - an arrogant worm that also revived the hero of a fairy tale;
  • Shy Spider (l'Araignée) - a spider who sacrifices himself at the request of Lisa for the sake of Lulia's happiness;
  • Madame Onyx (Madame ÔNE-X) - fortuneteller on the maps;
  • Lulia - a girl from a boarding school;
  • Nameless prisoner (l'Homme) - Lisa's random interlocutor in prison;
  • Royal Rinpô - a sage who voluntarily remains in a prison cell;
  • Mouse Kolya (Kolia) - a smart mouse living with a sage;
  • The Donkey Whore (l'Âne-Catin) is an ignorant donkey who does not know how to tell tales;
  • Longing (l'Ennui) - depicted as a drop of blood, Lisa's inner feeling, which prevents her from living and which Lisa must destroy;

Context

The niece of Milen Farmer, singer Lisa, who began her musical career in the summer of 2008, and her older brother Jean-Lou, who died in a car accident in 1996. The book was a great success after the release, 100,000 copies were sold.

Graphic references

The illustrations by Milen Farmer resemble drawings by Domitille de Pressensé and its series Émilie et Naftaline . But also the comic strip Yves Saint Laurent Naughty Lulu : type of lines, minimalist style, red color.
