Biography

He graduated from the Physics Department of Moscow State University (1961) and graduate school of the Physics Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences. P.N. Lebedeva (1965).

From 1961 to 1993 he worked at the Sapphire Research Institute.

In 1993-1994 - Head of the Laboratory of the Central Design Bureau of Unique Instrumentation of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Since 1994 - professor at the F.E.Dzerzhinsky Military Academy, he has taught courses on solid-state electronics, electromagnetic compatibility and the reliability of electronic equipment in the face of the damaging factors of a nuclear explosion.

He was engaged in research of physical processes in transition layers of semiconductors in strong electric fields (tunnel effect, impact ionization, microplasma phenomena). On this basis, devices have been created that are of great importance for control systems of rocket and space complexes.

He led the creation of a new generation of ultra-precise zener diodes, the level of special resistance of which exceeded the level of devices of this class by several orders of magnitude. For the first time he proposed a solid-state generator based on tunnel breakdown and created the theory of such devices.

Under his leadership, a stable semiconductor reference radiation source with a spectrum from the near infrared to the green band, which has no foreign analogues, was developed for space-rocket systems using the principle of astro correction.

Doctor of physico-mathematical sciences (1975), professor (1985), Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation (2002).
