Goose of African breed (brown variety) in Monterey County ( California )
The African breed of geese is a goose breed of Asian origin, resembling Chinese geese .
Origin

Despite its name, the breed was not bred in Africa , but in Asia . Just like their relative, the Chinese breed of domestic geese , the African geese are descended from a wild dryland ( lat. Anser cygnoides ).
Exterior
In terms of plumage color, African geese are similar to Chinese ones, but they can be distinguished as follows: African geese have a larger “purse" under their beaks.
