Rahat Fateh Ali Khan ( Urdu راحت فتح علی خان , born Rahat Fateh Ali Khan ; born December 9, 1973 ) is a Pakistani singer, mainly singing in the Kawali genre. Nephew of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan . In addition to kawali, he also performs gazelles and other light music. A popular offscreen performer of Bollywood and Lollywood .

Biography
Rahat was born into a family of kawali and classical music performers in Faisalabad , Punjab , Pakistan . His father was the famous harmon , and his grandfather was the legendary kawali . He studied singing from his uncle, singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan .
Rakhat began to sing at the age of five, and at seven for the first time he performed solo in public at a concert on the occasion of the anniversary of the death of his grandfather [1] . From the age of fifteen he was an integral part of the ensemble of the cavalry of his uncle, known throughout the world. Together with him he went on tour to the UK in 1985, where in addition to singing with the ensemble he performed solo parts. In the 1990s, he recorded songs for Pakistani films and made his Bollywood debut as a voiceover in the film 2004, performing the hit Mann Ki Lagan [1] . His most recent works include Pakistani nationalist songs such as Dharti Dharti and Hum Pakistan, and songs from Bollywood films. He tours a lot and performs in Pakistan, India , the UK and around the world.
Together with his uncle, as well as working in collaboration with Eddie Wedder from the American rock band Pearl Jam , Rahat contributed to the soundtrack of the 1995 Hollywood movie Dead Man Walking [2] . In 2002, he worked on the soundtrack for the film " Four Feathers " in collaboration with the American film composer James Horner [3] . In the same year, Rahat and The Derek Trucks Band recorded the song “Maki Madni” for their album Joyful Noise [4] . In 2011, his vocals were used in the soundtrack to Mel Gibson 's Apocalypse [3] [5] . In April 2012, Rahat toured the UK, performing at Wembley and arenas [6] . In 2014, Rakhat became the first Pakistani to speak at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony [7] , where he performed the memorial cavalry of his uncle Tumhe Dillagi ... and Mast Qalandar ... and also sang Aao Parhao - Jo Seekha hai woh sab ko seekhao ”( rus. Coming to teach, teach everything that you know ) [8] .
