History

It was first mentioned in the scribe book of the Vodskaya Pyatina of 1500 as the village of Turovo over the lake above Turov in Dmitrievsky Gorodensky graveyard of the Novgorod district [2] .

The village of Turov , consisting of 22 peasant households , is indicated on the map of the St. Petersburg province of F. F. Schubert in 1834 [3] .

TUROVO - the village of Mr. Sablin, on a country road, the number of yards - 30, the number of souls - 114 m. [6] (1856)

According to the Xth revision of 1857, the village consisted of two parts:
1st part: number of inhabitants - 41 m.p., 59 g. P.
2nd part: number of inhabitants - 43 m.p., 45 g. p. (of which the yard people - 6 m. p., 11 g. p.) [7]

According to a map from the “Historical Atlas of the St. Petersburg Province” of 1863, the village was called Turov [9] .

In 1873, temporarily liable peasants of the village bought their land allotments from M. N., P. N., V. L. Sablin and became the owners of the land [10] .

In 1875-1876, temporarily liable peasants bought their land allotments from EI Blazhenkov [11] .

According to the courtyard inventory of the Turov society of the Kologorodsky volost of 1882, the village consisted of two parts:
1) the former estate of Blazhenkov, houses - 35, allotment plots - 42, families - 28, number of inhabitants - 64 m., 59 women. P.; the category of peasants is the owners.
2) the former estate of Sablin, houses - 27, shower allotments - 37, families - 21, number of inhabitants - 57 m., 51 w. P.; the category of peasants is the owners [7] .

According to the statistics on the national economy of the Luga district of 1891, one of the estates in the village of Turovo with an area of ​​141 tithes belonged to the heirs of Privy Councilor AE Brun de Saint Hippolyta, the estate was acquired in 1880 for 5,000 rubles; the second estate of 216 acres belonged to the merchant I. Ya. Zabelsky, the estate was acquired in parts in 1883 and 1884 for 4650 rubles; the third estate with an area of ​​250 acres belonged to nobles V. and A. V. Kishkin, the estate was acquired until 1868 [12] .

In the XIX century, the village administratively belonged to the Kologorodsky volost of the 2nd zemsky district of the 1st camp of the Luga district of St. Petersburg province, at the beginning of the XX century - the 2nd camp.

According to the "Memorial Book of the St. Petersburg Province" for 1905, the village of Turovo was part of the Turovo rural society. 545 acres of land in Turovo belonged to peasant Kuzma Gavrilov and his comrades, 136 acres belonged to Privy Councilor Anatoly Egorovich Brun de Saint Ippolit, and 193 tithes to captain 1st rank Vladimir Kishkin and his brothers [13] .

From 1917 to 1927, the village was part of the Turovsky village council of the Kologorodsky volost of the Luga district.

According to a topographic map of 1926, the village consisted of 80 courtyards , in the center and on the outskirts of the village there were two chapels.

Since 1928, as part of the Slapsky Village Council [14] .

According to 1933, the village of Turovo was part of the Slapsky village council of the Luga region [15] .

Since July 1933, as part of the Luga Village Council.

The village was liberated from Nazi occupation on February 12, 1944.

In 1961, the population of the village was 189 people [14] .

According to the data of 1966, 1973 and 1990, the village of Turovo was also part of the Luga Village Council [16] [17] [18] .

In 1997, 233 people lived in the village of Turovo, Zaklinsky volost, in 2002 - 213 people (Russian - 90%) [19] [20] .

In 2007, 238 people lived in the village of Turovo, Zaklinsky SP [21] .

Geography

The village is located in the southeastern part of the district on the highway 41A-004 ( Pavlovo - Mga - Luga ).

The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 4 km [21] .

The distance to the nearest Luga railway station is 5 km [16] .

The village is located on the northern shore of Lake Turov .
