Gnei Julia’s consular colleague was Tit Quincius Pen Cincinnatus . When the Eques and Volks concentrated under Algide great forces to attack Rome, the consuls moved towards the enemy. But the idea of a joint command did not justify itself: “everyone was frightened by the cryo-led consuls, their strife and skirmishes at the meetings” [1] . Therefore, the Senate decided to appoint a dictator; only the people's tribunes were able to force the consuls to submit to this decision [2] .
The dictator Aul Postumius Tubert , going to war, left Gnei Julius in Rome for the defense of the city [3] .
Nothing is known about the future fate of Gnei Julius.
