Biography
Valentin Grigoryev began to play hockey in the 1958-1959 season for the Dynamo team (Moscow) , and then, in 1959-1961, he played for the Moscow SKIF team, which played in the RSFSR championship [1] .
In 1961-1965, Valentin Grigoriev played for the Dynamo team (Moscow) , scoring 28 goals in 92 matches of the USSR Championship [1] . During this time, as part of his team, he three times (in 1962, 1963 and 1964) became the silver medalist of the USSR championship [1] . His partners in the top three attacks in different years were Vladimir Maltsev , Igor Tuzik , Valentin Chistov and Anatoly Motovilov [2] .
In 1965-1968, Valentin Grigoriev played for the Sibir team (Novosibirsk) , scoring 14 goals in 118 matches of the USSR Championship [1] . In the 1968-1969 season, he played for the Lokomotiv team (Moscow) (5 goals in 20 matches), and then two seasons for the Saratov Kristall : 1969-1970 in the major league (6 abandoned goals) and 1970-1971 in League One (4 goals) [1] . In the early 1970s, he played for the Spartak team (Tashkent) [3] .
In 1978-1980, Valentin Grigoriev worked as a head coach of the Torpedo hockey team ( Ust-Kamenogorsk ) [4] , in 1981-1982 he coached the Moscow team of Wings of the Soviets , and in 1984-1990 he worked in the Crystal team ( Elektrostal ) [1] [5] [6] [7] .
He died under the train in the summer of 1990. There were speculations about the murder, but no criminal proceedings were instituted [8] .
