“Sweeter Than Fiction” (Better Fiction) is a song by American country and pop singer and songwriter Taylor Swift , released on October 21, 2013 from the soundtrack for the film “ Dreams Come True! "( One Chance ) (2013). The song was written by the singer herself and Jack Antonoff, they also became co-producers. The song received a Golden Globe Award nomination in the category Best Original Song at the 2014 Ceremony [1] .

The song was released on October 21, 2013 on digital media as the lead single from the soundtrack of the soundtrack to the film “ One Chance ” (Dreams Come True! 2013). [2] [3] [4] .
“Sweeter Than Fiction” combines elements of different styles, here rock [5] , and bubblegum pop, and synth-pop with a new wave (Rolling Stone) [6] [7] [8] . Critics noted the reminiscences of 80s pop (Entertainment Weekly, Idolator) [6] [8] .
The song became the second in the singer's career nominated for the prestigious Golden Globe Award in the category Best Original Song at the 2014 ceremony. The year before, Safe & Sound was nominated [1] .
Sweeter Than Fiction debuted at No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100 in America’s charts, becoming the 34th hit in the top 40 in her career, sharing second place with Aretha Franklin in this record for all women in music history . The song also became the fifth song in Swift’s career to hit the top 40 hits in the USA, following “ Crazier ” from Hannah Montana: The Movie (song reached number 17 in 2009), “ Today Was a Fairytale ” from Saint Valentine’s movie Valentine (No. 2 in 2010) and two songs from the Hunger Games movie: “ Safe & Sound ” along with The Civil Wars (No. 30 in 2012) and “ Eyes Open ” (No. 19 in 2012) [9] . On the Hot Digital Songs digital chart, the song “Sweeter Than Fiction” debuted at No. 6 with a circulation of 114,000 downloads. This is the 28th Taylor song in the top 10 on this digital chart, and the first place in this indicator ( Rihanna has the same number) for all artists in history [10] .
