Biography
Eli Ray Hadley was born in Washington State on September 18, 1942 in Renton. Her parents were fond of figure skating and roller skating, and it was there that they met. Also, her younger brother Ray became interested in ice skating, with whom they subsequently will pair up.
When Ilya was 10 years old, the parents broke up and his father soon married Linda Hart , who began to train his children. At first, she worked with them as single men, then paired them. Soon his father joined the training, he began to put programs in a new form of figure skating dancing on ice (in modern he became a choreographer).
After winning the U.S. Junior Championship in 1957, the couple set out to enter the home Olympic Games in 1960 . Athletes and coaches decided to pay more attention to pair skating, since dancing at that time was not yet part of the Olympic Games. It was not possible to find confirmation of participation in the competition in the US Championship in 1958, but it is known for certain that in 1959 the couple was in fourth place and were the main candidates for the national team. And the next year they were in the squad of the US national team to play in Squaw Valley . In the same year, a week later, he made his debut at the World Cup in Vancouver . The couple also achieved great results in ice dancing among juniors.
The next season, a couple of Il and his brother confirmed their skills in pairs and in dances.
Doom
At the end of February, the world championship in figure skating was to be held in Prague . Eli Ray Hadley as part of the national team on a plane traveled to Czechoslovakia , and during an intermediate landing in Brussels, the liner crashed . All passengers and crew died. Together with Eli, her stepmother, trainer Linda Hart, her younger brother and partner Ray Hadley, died.
The most amazing thing is that the family experienced huge financial difficulties and they planned to abandon the start in Europe . They were already preparing to be replaced by brother and sister Browning. However, there were sponsors and skaters with a coach flew to Czechoslovakia. After 5-7 days, their father was supposed to join them.
