“ Arizona Coyotes ” ( born Arizona Coyotes ) is a professional hockey club serving in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The club is based in Glendale , Arizona , USA . Founded in 1996 as a result of the Winnipeg Jets Club moving from Winnipeg . Before the 2014/2015 season , the team was called the Phoenix Coyotes . Home matches held at the stadium " Hila River Arena ." The most successful season for the team was the 2011/12 season , when following the regular championship the “coyotes” became the winners of the Pacific division, and in the playoffs they reached the finals of the Western Conference, where they lost in the series “ Los Angeles Kings ” with a score of 1: 4.
