Geography
The southern slopes of the surrounding mountains are covered with forests, mostly coniferous trees, the northern slopes are devoid of forests, but together they create a magnificent landscape that is pleasing to the eye! Karanub is framed on three sides by streams with clean and always cold water. Also, the forests in the vicinity of the village are rich in berries - blueberries, cranberries, stone berries, strawberries, etc. They gather wild garlic, wild rose, cumin, thyme, mint, St. John's wort, and other gifts of nature. The world of Karanuba’s fauna is rich and diverse. There are predators, herbivorous mammals, more than 60 species of birds ...
There is a FAP in the village, a library - a club, a sports ground where they train, play volleyball, football, and hold competitions in national sports. A memorial to the Hero of Socialist Labor Kurbanov TA is held annually. - a native of Karanuba. Built mosque.
The population is mainly engaged in animal husbandry (cattle breeding, small cattle breeding - sheep, goats), crop production. They grow fruits and vegetables.

History
The first mention was in 1658. Initially, the ancestors of the current Karanians lived in the settlements: "Gigrosu", "Gorolachil". During the Russian Empire, the village was part of the Tleiserukh free society. According to the 1886 census, 200 people lived in Karanube (44 farms), 103 were male and 97 were female.
After the October Revolution, Karanub was part of the collective farm. GM Malenkov, as a result of the consolidation of collective farms - in the collective farm named. K. Marx.
Ten karanubtsev took part in the Great Patriotic War. Five have not returned from the fields of battle.
