Encephalartos turneri (lat.) - an evergreen tree plant of the genus Encephalartos ( Encephalartos ). A specific Latin name is given in honor of Ian S. Turner , a well-known researcher and collector of the Cygnus and type-collector in Zimbabwe.

The trunk is 3 m high, 80 cm in diameter. Leaves 100-150 cm long, dark green, very shiny; ridge green, straight, stiff; stalk straight, with 6-12 spines. Leaf fragments lanceolate; medium - 15-20 cm long, 20-30 mm wide. Pollen cones 1-3, narrow ovoid, yellow, 25-30 cm long, 6-8 cm in diameter. Seed cones 1-3, ovoid, yellow, 26-30 cm long, 14-16 cm in diameter. Seeds are oblong, 40-60 mm long, 20-25 mm wide, sarcotest red or yellow.
This species is found mainly in the province of Nampula , as well as in the province of Nyasa of Mozambique. The view is observed at an altitude of 600 to 1200 m above sea level. It grows on low granite hills in the open sun or in partial shade, usually among boulders.
