Biography
Andrian Dushev was born on June 6, 1970 in Sofia . He began to actively engage in rowing at the age of thirteen, was trained in the capital's sports club CSKA.
The first serious success at the adult international level was in 1989, when he joined the main team of the Bulgarian national team and attended the home world championships in Plovdiv, from where he brought the bronze dignity award won in the offset of four-seater kayaks at a distance of 500 meters - only crews from USSR and Germany. He took part in the world championships of 1990 and 1995, although he could not get there among the winners. Thanks to a series of successful performances, he was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta - in two with Milko Casanov he took eighth place at five hundred meters and won a bronze medal at a thousand meters, losing in the decisive race to teams from Italy and Germany.
After the Olympics, Dushev remained in the main team of Bulgaria's rowing team and continued to take part in major international regattas. So, in 1997, he performed at the European Championships in Plovdiv, where he became a bronze medalist in the kilometer-long kayak-two. Two years later, at the European Championship in the Croatian Zagreb, he twice went up to the podium, received silver in the four-kilometer and kilometer fours. A year later, at similar competitions in Polish Poznan, he added to the track record a bronze medal of the kilometer program of four-seater kayaks.
Since 2009, he has been the head coach of the national team of Bulgaria in kayaking and canoeing. Since 2010, married to the titled Serbian-Hungarian kayaker Natasha Janic , three-time Olympic champion, nineteen-time world champion.
