Deir-Mar-Maroun ( born Deir-Mar Maroun - “Monastery of Saint Maron ”) - 90-meter [1] three-level rock in the valley of the river Al-Asi (Orontes) , in which in the 4th century AD er [2] Saint Maron , the founder of the Maronite church, lived in a grotto and lived to the end of his days [3] . It is also believed that temporary shelter and his followers were found [2] . Located in Lebanon .
By the XIX century, the grotto in which saint Maron settled was abandoned [3] . Deir-Mar-Maroon monastery, considered to be of historical value, despite various disputes, is currently being restored thanks to the efforts of the Maronite community [4] .
