Qualification

Greco-Roman wrestling competitions among men in the under 59 kg category at the first European Games were held on June 13 . 24 athletes from 24 countries took part. Competitions were held in the sports arena named after Heydar Aliyev .

A confident victory in the tournament was won by the Russian wrestler Stepan Maranyan . The second place was taken by the Belarusian athlete Soslan Daurov , and the third place went to the owner of the competition, Azerbaijani Elman Mukhtarov and Frenchman Tarik Belmandi .
