After touring the band in 1991 in support of the Empire album, EMI released a limited version of the album in two versions, one containing a video cassette and a CD, the other containing a video cassette and an audio cassette of a live performance Operation: Mindcrime .

In 2001, the disc was remastered. The video was also re-released in DVD format with hidden bonus tracks “The Lady Wore Black” and “Roads to Madness”, and also contains an interview and a graphic history of the album.
