Expoforum is a congress and exhibition center in the historical district of Pulkovskoye within the boundaries of the municipality " Shushary Village" ( Pushkinsky district of the city of federal significance of St. Petersburg ). It was founded in 2014 to replace the morally and technically obsolete Lenexpo complex on Vasilyevsky Island . A modern and large venue of international level, which allows holding events of any format and scale: exhibitions, congresses, conferences, forums, sports and cultural events, etc.

Location
It is located on the Pulkovo area in the southwestern part of the village of Shushary ( Pushkin district of the city of federal significance of St. Petersburg ), on the Pulkovo Heights , in the historical district of Pulkovo . To the north of the exhibition complex is the Petersburg Highway .
Features
The facility is located on the territory of 56 hectares, has three pavilions, a congress center. The congress and exhibition center also has 2 Hilton hotels, 2 Gazprom Mezhregiongaz business centers, three helipads, a customs and logistics complex, cafes, restaurants, stationary and mobile wardrobes, a medical center, a mother and baby room. On the territory there is the Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God - a reconstruction of the historic Pulkovo Church , fragments of the foundation of which were discovered during the planning of the complex. The temple, lost during the war years, built in the 18th century by Giacomo Quarenghi , which is rare for Russia with a two-bell type, was recreated according to the surviving drawings and drawings of the architect. In 2011, a capsule with a message to descendants was placed at the base of the church.

History
- On February 9, 2007, the Government of St. Petersburg and the Gazprom Group company signed an agreement on cooperation and interaction for the implementation of the project for the construction of an international congress and exhibition center in St. Petersburg.
- On January 18, 2008, ExpoForum CJSC was established to implement the project.
- On November 1, 2011, ExpoForum CJSC signed a package of agreements with Lenexpo OJSC, after which the entire portfolio of exhibitions, as well as rental of the Lenexpo exhibition complex, were transferred to ExpoForum CJSC.
- On November 23, 2011, the Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, A. B. Miller, and the Governor of St. Petersburg, G. S. Poltavchenko, installed the first pile for the foundation of the future Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Center.
- On October 1, 2013, the restructuring of the company's business was completed: construction activities remained the responsibility of ExpoForum CJSC, and the tasks of organizing exhibition, business and cultural events, as well as the management of exhibition space, were transferred to ExpoForum International LLC. Since 2014, ExpoForum International has been the operator of the new ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Center.
- The opening took place on October 7, 2014 with the participation of St. Petersburg Governor G.S. Poltavchenko and the head of Gazprom A. Miller.
- In March 2016, the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation introduced Expoforum to the All-Russian Register of Sports Objects, from this moment on the site competitions can be held in 77 sports. The dimensions of each pavilion are comparable to two football fields, they are built without columns, it is possible to install mobile stands for 2016 seats.
- In May 2016, a congress center was opened in the complex, which includes 35 conference rooms with a total capacity of 10,000 people, a press center (1150 m 2 ), a panoramic restaurant on the 7th floor with 256 seats.
Events
- The first event held at the facility was the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum [1] .
- In 2016, the annual St. Petersburg International Economic Forum , which brought together more than 12,000 participants from 133 countries, moved to the new complex from Lenexpo. Before, SPIEF was held at Lenexpo.
Expoforum as a movie set
Expoforum regularly becomes kind for filming. In the autumn and winter of 2013, several large-scale scenes of the film “ Under Electric Clouds ”, directed by Alexei German Jr., were shot on the territory of the complex under construction. The territory of the complex served as the scenery for the film, a significant part of which tells about high examples of modern European-style architecture. The film, shot by Metrafilms together with the Lenfilm film studio with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation , was included in the main competition program of the 65th Berlin Film Festival and received the Silver Bear for outstanding achievements in the field of cinema.
In September 2016, the film company Bird Bird, commissioned by NTV , shot an action-packed detective in the CEC in 16 episodes of Countdown. The filming period lasted from July to November, the front desk and outdoor area were used for filming - parking and access to the Hampton by Hilton St. Petersburg.
