Vladislav Vladimir Mukhin ( June 22, 1930 , Perm - June 13, 2015 , Perm ) - Soviet, Russian scientist- historian , Dean of the Faculty of History, Perm University (1973–1975, 1979–1985). Chairman of the Perm City Council, member of the central council of the All-Russian Society for the Protection and Use of Monuments of History and Culture (1977–2003). A major specialist in the history and culture of the Urals and Perm Territory , editor, compiler, author of books on this topic.

Biography

As a child, his family often moved from one Ural city to another.

In 1949 he entered, and in 1954 he graduated from the historical department of the historical and philological faculty of Perm University . The graduation work of V. V. Mukhin, devoted to the formation and development of the Kizelovsky basin , the largest center of the coal industry in the Urals , carried out under the guidance of V. F. Tiunov , future rector of PSU , was recognized as one of the best works of students of university graduates and was soon published [1 ] . Having received a diploma, V.V. Mukhin stayed to work at the university.

August 1954 - December 1957 - Executive Secretary of the newspaper Perm University [2] [3] .

Since January 1958, he worked at the Department of History of the USSR (later the Department of Ancient and New History of Russia) as an assistant, then as a senior teacher, assistant professor.

In 1966 he defended his thesis on the subject “The Ural Mining Plant Estate of the Vsevolozhskys in the First Half of the 19th Century”. The supervisor of the dissertation was the founder of the Perm School of Uralologists, doctor of historical sciences, professor F. S. Gorovoi , who in those years was rector of PSU .

From November 23, 1967 to November 28, 1968 - Secretary of the Party Committee of Perm University [4] .

In 1972, he was awarded the academic title of assistant professor.

In 1973-1975 and 1979-1985 - Dean of the Faculty of History, Perm University .

Scientific and administrative activities

The scientific interests of V.V. Mukhin are connected with the history of the mining estates of the Urals . A study of the history of estates — the Stroganovs , the Golitsins , the Shuvalovs , the Lazarevs, and others — was reflected in the sections of collective monographs that he wrote, the articles and the study guide “History of Mining Enterprises of the Urals in the First Half of the 19th Century”. An important direction of his scientific work was the study of the culture of the Urals and Perm Territory . A number of works V.V. Mukhin devoted to the state and protection of historical monuments in Perm and Prikamye .

Addressing the problems of colonization of the Urals and Trans-Urals , V.V. Mukhin published a popular science book on Ermak’s campaign in Siberia, “Ermak Timofeevich” (Perm, 1957), thus becoming an author - a participant in the series “ Remarkable People of the Kama Region ”.

V.V. Mukhin was the editor and compiler of a number of scientific collections and other publications “Monuments of History and Culture of the Perm Region”. (Perm, 1971); "Ural Archaeographic Yearbook for 1972." (Perm, 1974); "Perm governors." (Perm, 1997) and others.). He took part in writing large collective works on the history of the region.

In the fundamental work “History of the Urals”, one of the editors of which he himself was (T. 1. Perm, 1963; 2nd ed. T. 1. Perm, 1976), his pen contains extensive chapters on the development of the culture of the region in the pre-reform period and the post-reform era. In generalizing collective monographic works, “The History of the Urals from Ancient Times to 1861” (Moscow, 1989) and “The History of the Urals during the period of capitalism” (Moscow, 1990), in sections on the state of science and technology in the region in XVIII – XIX centuries, V.V. Mukhin revealed and traced the democratic trends in the development of the Ural culture in the field of education, science, literature, art; its inextricable relationship with Russian national culture is shown [5] .

Since 1976, for ten years, V.V. Mukhin was the rector of the People's University of Local Lore at the Perm Regional Museum of Local Lore .

For many years he advocated the cultural heritage of the Urals .

According to his contemporaries, the strengths of him as a leader were the ability to single out and focus on solving the main tasks facing the faculty, separating them from secondary ones; implementation of the course to attract talented youth to the department, to enhance the prestige of the profession of a historian. Under V.V. Mukhin, steps were taken to strengthen the staff of the history faculty, and to intensify educational, methodological and research work. The number of departments increased: in 1974 there were four: the history of the USSR before the Soviet period, the history of Soviet society, modern and recent history, the history of the ancient world and the Middle Ages.

VV Mukhin was a member of the Academic Council of the Perm Regional Museum of Local Lore , rector of the National University of Local Lore at the Museum; Member of the Academic Council of the Perm Art Gallery . Chairman of the Perm City Council of the All-Russian Society for the Protection and Use of Monuments of History and Culture (1977-2003), since 1985 - member of the Central Council of VOOPiK. He was part of the stamp commission of the administration of the Perm Territory and the commission for renaming streets of the administration of the city ​​of Perm .
