Tampa Bay Lightning ( Eng. Tampa Bay Lightning ) is a professional ice hockey club serving the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League . Based in Tampa , Florida , USA . It was formed in 1992 and holds home games at the Amalie Arena stadium. In 2004, Tampa won the Stanley Cup for the first time, beating the Calgary Flames in the final . After 11 years, in the decisive series lost the trophy " Chicago Blackhawks ."
