Biography
In 1968, he received a bachelor of arts degree after completing his studies at Dartmouth College . From 1968 to 1970 he was a volunteer in the Peace Corps in Kenya . In 1973 he received a law degree from the University of Virginia.
In July 2014, he was proposed by US President Barack Obama as the US Ambassador to Finland and approved by the Senate on June 24, 2015 [1] . August 3, 2015 arrived in Helsinki on a ferry from Stockholm [2] .
