Biography
Broderick Steven "Steve" Harvey was born on January 17, 1957 in West Virginia, USA. The son of Eloise and the miner Jesse Harvey. He moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where he graduated from high school in 1974 . For a while, Stevie was an insurance agent and boxer.
His career as a comedian in an improvisational genre began in the mid-1980s. As a bright representative of stand-up gum, Harvey in 1994 received one of the main roles in the American sitcom ABC 'Me and the Boys'. He later turned into a comedian on the Steve Harvey Show television series, which lasted from 1996 to 2002 . Although Steve was wildly popular in the African American layer and won several prizes of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Harvey was not so often complained outside and even expressed dissatisfaction about him.
Together with the participants of the reality show Kings of Comedy, D.L. Hewley, Cedric 'Entertainer' and Bernie Mack, the comedian went on a tour in 1997 . Their comedy project formed the basis of the film Spike Lee The Real Kings of Comedy, the stars of which became the entire magnificent four reality show. The release of the picture, its DVD sale, as well as shooting Steve in the documentary “Don't Trip ... He Ain't Through with Me Yet” made it even more popular. Harvey released his hip-hop and rhythm and blues album on the label, which he himself founded, and wrote the book "Steve Harvey's Big Time".
In 2003, the actor starred with Cube Gooding Jr. and Beyonce Knowles in the musical comedy Jonathan Lynn's “Fighting Temptations,” and in 2005 he took part in off-screen work on the animated movie 'Raging Races', voicing a fly named Buzz.
Harvey led his own eponymous morning radio show, which was originally aired by Radio One from September 2000 to May 2005 . A lot of effort was made to bring the comedian’s project to the national level, but ultimately, only the residents of Los Angeles (KKBT station) and Dallas (KBFB) listened to “Steve Harvey's Morning Show”. As a result, Harvey and Radio One decided to terminate their partnership shortly before the expiration of the contract. In September 2005, Steve made a new deal - with the Premiere radio network and Inner City Broadcasting Corporation, so the comedian's disappeared radio show survived its rebirth. Steve’s program was aired on WBLS in New York until it was announced in March 2009 that Tom Joyner’s Morning Show would take the place of Steve Harvey’s Morning Show. On January 20, 2010, news came that Steve would be the new host of the popular Family Feud television game show in September, replacing John O'Hurley. In 2015, he was the host of the Miss Universe show, during which, during the award ceremony, Colombia was named the winner, although it was necessary to name the Philippines.
Harvey has twin daughters, Carly and Brandy, born in 1982 , and son Broderick, who was born in 1991 . These three children are from their first marriage.
The mother of his son Winton, born in 1997, is the second ex-wife of the actor, Mary Lee Harvey. They divorced after 17 years spent together and 10 years of legal marriage. Mary Lee is suing her ex-husband, wanting to receive part of Steve’s property and business, as well as to achieve a monthly payment of $ 1,000 to raise their common son.
For the third time, the actor married June 25, 2007 on the island of Maui - Marjorie Bridges Woods.
