Biography
Representative of the princely family of the Stanoevichs.
He studied at the Belgrade School of Arts and Crafts under the guidance of Professor Lubomir Ivanovich and Mark Murat . From 1920 to 1930 he lived in Paris . He was one of the founders of the Oblik art group.
He began his career as a representative of constructivism , in a later period shifted to coloristic expressionism .
In the 1920s he created canvases in the spirit of idealized reality .
Velko Stanojevic is one of the leading Serbian artists of the third decade of the 20th century.
The first solo exhibition was held in Belgrade in 1922. A year later, took part in group and organized a number of personal exhibitions in Yugoslavia, Europe and America.
Today, the artist’s paintings are in the collections of the Belgrade National Museum of Serbia , the Museum of Modern Art , the Historical Museum and private collections.
