Kublichi (agro-town)

Kublichi ( Belorussian. Kublichy ) - an agro - town (until 2010 - a village), the center of the Kublichsky village council in the Ushachsky district of the Vitebsk region . Located 20 km from Ushach .

Content

History

The first written mention of Kublich dates back to the 15th century . The area was part of the Polotsk Voivodeship . In 1511, the Grand Duke Sigismund the Old presented 2 services of “ people of good use in Kublichi ” to the Polotsk boyars M. and I. Nevelsky.

In 1552, the estate and courtyard of Kublichi was the possession of F. Kublitsky: “ 3 smokes to that court serve him as a horse. 14 smokes of free people give the pit of all sorts of fires a fourth share . ” In 1593, Kublichi became the center of the volost. At the beginning of the XVII century, the area passed into the possession of the Selyavs . In 1622, Archimandrite Nikon Selyava and his brothers sold the estate to captain I. Polozchik.

On May 20, 1642, the Polotsk captain Joseph Klenovsky founded the Catholic Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary in Kublichi. Since 1667, the estate was in the possession of the Polotsk city governor I. Kublitsky, since 1719 - Guscha. In 1783, a new stone Catholic church was erected on the site of a decrepit wooden one.

In 1793, Kublichi became part of the Russian Empire, were in the Lepel district of Vitebsk province .

During World War II, near this settlement on October 12–13, 1812, clashes between Russian imperial army and the French corps of Saint-Cyr occurred [2] .

According to the inventory, in 1846 there were 20 houses in Kublichi, the estate of the same name consisted of 15 villages and belonged to P. Seljava (2241 tithes of land). In 1846, a public school was opened in Kublichi, in which there was a boarding school for 44 students. There was a parish school. In 1867, the Catholic Church was converted to Orthodox. In 1880 there was a volost government in Kublichi, 2 Orthodox churches, 3 Jewish schools, a distillery, 2 tanneries, an inn, 17 shops, 3 fairs were held (February 2, June 29, October 1) and weekly trading on Wednesdays. At the beginning of the XX century there were 128 yards.

On August 20, Kublichi became the center of the village council of Ushachsky district. In the 1930s, a forge operated in Kublichi. In 1938, the status of the village was lowered to the village.

During the Great Patriotic War , the Jewish ghetto was located here; most of the Jews driven into it were destroyed by the Nazis.

For 1941, there were 141 yards in the village, for 1969 - 123 yards, for 2000 - 180 yards. In 1954, an obelisk was erected on the mass grave of Soviet soldiers and partisans.

Since 2010, Kublichi has been an agro-town [3] .

  • The hillfort and the burial mounds (IV century BC. - III century BC. E.), investigated by I. A. Serbov in 1928.

  • A plaque at the headquarters of the 1st partisan brigade named after A.V. Suvorova (1976)

In Kublichi there is a kindergarten-basic school, a library, a post office, Kublichskoye lesnichestvo GLHU “Ushachsky Leskhoz”, Municipal Unitary Agricultural Enterprise of the Vitebsk Region “Kublichi” (KUSHP “Kublichi”).
