Tjaldanefesdel ( Isl. Tjaldanesfell ) is a mountain in northwest Iceland . It is located approximately in the middle of the Westfirdir region near the farm Hrabnseiri on the north bank of Adnarfjord .

The mountain is somewhat different from the surrounding mountains from basalt , since it contains rhyolite and gabbro and has a lighter color. This can be explained by the fact that the mountain is a remnant of the old central volcano Tyaldanes, active about 12 million years ago. The mountain also has erosion slopes, atypical for the mountains of the Westfjords.
To the same volcanic system carry the highest mountain in the region - Caldbakyur .
Not far from the foot of the mountain is an abandoned farm Tyaldanez.
