Biography
Born on January 7, 1903 in the city of Sulin, now the city of Krasny Sulin, Rostov Region, in a working class family. Tatar. He was brought up without a father, who died two years after the birth of his son.
He began his career in 1915, came to the Sulinsky Metallurgical Plant, where his father worked. At eleven, he helped workers in the workshop, where they made railway and mine crutches. Then he worked in the rolling shop as a lubricant, assistant engineer on a steam engine of the rolling shop.
In 1918 he moved to the city of Makeevka, Donetsk region. He worked as a roofer at the Sofia mine. In 1920, in the direction of the Komsomol organization, he was sent to study in the city of Kazan, to the Tatar rabfak. Upon graduation in 1925 he returned to Makeevka.
For some time he was at trade union work: inspector of the Makeyevsky district committee of the coal miners union (until 1927), secretary, chairman of the mine committee of the Sofia mine (until 1929), secretary of the coal miners district committee (until 1930).
Since 1930, he worked in the apparatus of the Shakhtstroy trust (Kharkov) as deputy director for labor and personnel. In 1932 he was sent to study at the Stalin Ukrainian Industrial Academy, which he graduated in 1936 with a diploma of a process engineer. In the same year he was appointed director of the Kuteynikovsky ceramic plant of the Shakhtstroy trust (Voikovsky village of the Amvrosievsky district of Donetsk region). Since 1938 - the head of the construction office of Donbassshahtostroy. Since 1939, he worked as a construction manager in the construction of mines in the cities of Krasnodon, Mines, and Dobroprolie.
In October 1941 he was evacuated. First, he organized the evacuation of mining equipment from Donbass to the Urals. Then, heading the mine construction department in the Karaganda coal basin, director of a cement plant in Karaganda.
After the liberation of Donbass in 1944 he returned to Donbass. First he supervised the construction of the Novo-Mospino mine, then he worked on the restoration of the Sofia mine. He skillfully organized workers and specialists for the forced conduct of restoration work.
In February 1948 he was appointed head of the Stalinzhilstroy department. Under his leadership, the construction of residential buildings for miners, industrial and public buildings accelerated markedly. In 1948, the trust put into operation about 48 thousand square meters of new living space, honoring two more than in 1947. In 1948, the amount of disbursed investments increased one and a half times and the average wage of workers increased.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 28, 1948, for outstanding achievements in increasing coal production, restoration and construction of coal mines and the introduction of advanced working methods that ensure a significant increase in labor productivity, Andrei Sergeyevich Shevgalishin was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and a gold medal "Hammer and sickle".
Since December 1950, he again worked on the construction of mines: the construction manager at Tsentralno-Zavodskaya and Shvernik (Donetsk), the head at the construction of the Shcheglovka-Glubokaya mine (Makeevka). Later he worked as the first deputy manager of the trust "Donetskshakhtoprohodka", head of construction department No. 1.
In 1957 he retired.
